SENIOR BUSINESS ANALYST (2021-2022)
DUTIES:
- Work with the Business Information Systems (BIS) team to enhance the District’s operational efficiency by implementing, developing, and supporting quality IT software solutions.
- Support the District’s suite of custom and commercial-of-the-self software applications.
- Meet with stakeholders to gather business requirements.
- Implement IT projects that meet defined business requirements.
- Manage system enhancement requests and gather specifications.
- Create and maintain project documentation and execute project plans.
- Exercise Agile software development methodologies and best practices.
- Promote a self-service support culture.
- Coordinate software updates.
- Manage security for specific applications.
- Develop and execute test plans.
- Plan and execute system administration activities for enterprise platforms.
- Plan and support application integration and verify data integration.
- Develop and maintain documentation and support knowledge transfer across the BIS team.
- Identify solutions to end-user requests for support and resolve technical problems.
- Handle additional duties and special projects in support of the Business Information Systems team
- Report to the Business Information Systems Manager.
- Perform related work as assigned by the Superintendent of Schools.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- BA in Business Administration, Information Technology, or related discipline preferred.
- Strong ability to analyze problems and take initiative in generating reliable solutions.
- Ability to formulate test cases to validate business and functional requirements.
- Proven vendor management capabilities and resource management abilities.
- Ability to understand, support, and communicate management goals and decisions.
- Familiarity with project management fundamentals.
- Familiarity with Agile software development methodologies.
- Familiarity with database management systems.
- Familiarity with application security and authentication.
- Familiarity with SharePoint and SharePoint Online is preferred.
- Familiarity with one or more programming languages is preferred.
- Familiarity with ERP systems like MUNIS, Salesforce, or Workday.
- Ability to read and understand software manuals and other types of technical documentation.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Demonstrated success working independently and collaboratively.
- Adept at effectively managing multiple priorities in a high-demand environment.
- Ability to facilitate meetings using communication and presentation software.
- Demonstrated experience implementing an IT project that meets business requirements.
- Three or more years in a business or application analyst capacity.
- Proficiency with office productivity applications.
