Assistant Manager, Valet/Shuttle
As one of the leading entertainment destinations in Southern California, San Manuel Casino (SMC) caters to approximately 2.2 million visitors each year. The Transportation department serves an integral role in creating a positive guest experience through its multiple services, including bussing, shuttle and valet.
Under the direction of the Valet/Shuttle Manager, the Valet/Shuttle Assistant Manager is responsible for delegated duties assigned by the department manager. They will train and advise all department supervisors and employees regarding department and company objectives. The Valet/Shuttle Assistant Manager will develop training standards and materials in order to direct employee development.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Mentor, monitor, train and advise all supervisors and department employees; execute department directives, goals and communications.
- Generate specific cost reports and statistical data to determine safety and performance trends.
- Facilitate the successful daily operation of the Valet/Shuttle Department through the implementation of active management techniques consisting of strategic planning, data research and direction.
- Direct the development of training programs and materials.
- Analyze staffing, efficiency standards and quality of work to incorporate cost saving opportunities.
- Collect and analyze data on present and past operations, trends, costs and estimated and realized revenues.
- Direct department assets on cost saving and streamlining measures to improve productivity.
- Foster consistent, excellent guest relations by resolving grievances between internal/external guests.
- Conduct employee workshops and/or presentations emphasizing the nine (9) quality service standards of the company as well as department quality standards intended to produce successful results for the department.
- Track department growth and conduct training to ensure maximum department proficiency.
- Enforce strict adherence to both State & Federal transportation rules and regulations (present and future) that govern passenger carriers.
- Conduct periodic and annual evaluation of department Supervisors.
- Coordinates the operation of vehicle maintenance and repair programs for departmental vehicles.
- Receives, reviews, and processes vehicle accident and damage reports.
- Promote a safe work environment by conducting safety audits and meetings.
- Orders departmental supplies and facilitates vehicle repairs as directed by Valet/Shuttle Manager.
- Other duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the department.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints and problem solving.
Education/Experience/Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Bachelors Degree in Business Management preferred; or minimum of two (2) years casino management experience or training.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and Power Point essential.
- Must have demonstrated ability exercising utmost discretion with confidential information including, but not limited to internal/external guest personal information.
Certificates/Licenses/Registrations
- Must possess a valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record as determined by the company’s insurance carrier.
- At the discretion of the San Manuel Tribal Gaming Commission you may be required to obtain and maintain a gaming license.
