Job Description and Duties
As an employee of the facility Level of Care Registry, a Pre-Licensed Psychiatric Technician (PLPT) may be requested to work AM/PM shift, any day of the week and on any residence at the Developmental Center. Under the direction supervisory staff, a PLPT provides direct care, treatment and active treatment for the clients where they are assigned, to develop a better understanding of clients and to help our clients achieve the maximum level of their abilities.
On August 5, 2021, State of California, Health and Human Services Agency State Public Health Officer Order (Order) mandated that all workers who provide services or work in Health Care facilities listed in the Order have their first dose of a one-dose COVID-19 vaccine regimen or their second dose of a two-dose regimen by September 30, 2021.
Working Conditions
Typical Working Conditions: Ongoing interaction with clients, personnel and the general public. Potential exposure to communicable diseases, blood borne pathogens and other conditions common to a clinical nursing environment.
Physical Demands: Must possess and maintain sufficient strenth, agility, endurance and sensory abilities to perform the duties contained in this duty statement. Must be able to lift 50 pounds without assistance; must be able to participate in client containment, intervention or restraint. Must have the ability to work extended hours and various shifts; must float to all work areas within the facility if called upon to do so.
