About Pellissippi State Community College
Pellissippi State Community College is one of 40 institutions in the Tennessee Board of Regents system. Culture and Diversity
Knoxville claims a wide range of forward thinking national and international talents. The scholarly influence on the Knoxville metropolitan area bred literary greats including James Agee, Cormac McCarthy, and Nikki Giovanni. BASIC JOB SUMMARY: The overall function of the Technical Clerk I is to be the team lead on transcript requests and enrollment verifications and assist with several key Records office related tasks
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
30% Monitor electronic transcripts and process manual transcript requests and inquiries
20% Provide customer service for the Records Office through email, mail, and telephone
15% Prepare and process Enrollment and/or Educational Verification requests
10% Manage and process Dual Credit grades from area school systems after payments are posted
10% Update and verify dual enrollment students' academic records and grant eligibility in TSAC's database (FAST)
5% Administer Debt Agreement database and procedures
5% Problem solve with regard to admissions and registration activities
5% Monitor change of major requests

KEY RESULT AREAS:
All transcript related inquiries, enrollment verifications, and change of major requests should be completed within 24 – 48 hours of submission during regular working hours.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
· High School Diploma/GED
· 1 year of office &/or customer service experience.
Part-time work experience is calculated at 50% credit of full-time work experience.
SKILLS & ABILITIES:
· Demonstrates ability to be innovative and improve processes
· Takes initiative to get things done without being prompted
· Strong problem-solving skills
· Able to make decisions with limited information
· Demonstrates a high degree of technical skill required by the job
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
· Higher education/Banner experience
SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY: The complexity and creativity of the position are influenced in accordance with TBR/College policies and procedures and Federal guidelines. Strong attention to detail and providing superior customer service at all times. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required. Ability to analyze and problem solve. Proficiency with general computer functions, including Microsoft Office.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Position requires sitting, walking, standing and occasional lifting. Manual dexterity is essential for quality performance with data entry. Occasional lifting is necessary when supplies are received; approximate weight varies from 5 – 20 pounds. This position receives a high number of telephone calls daily and requires the ability to receive verbal requests and instructions from the conversations. The ability to effectively communicate electronically and virtually. Clear vision is necessary for accuracy when reading large volumes of various written or online requests and later entering the information in the student database.

Pay Rate: $26,500 - $31,220/per year. Pay will be determined based on related work experience above required. To be considered in determining pay, all related work experience must be listed on the application.
