The New York City campaign Finance Board is a nonpartisan, independent city agency that enhances the role of New York City residents in elections. We are dedicated to making our local democracy more open, transparent, and equitable.

ABOUT THE UNIT/DEPARTMENT
The Public Affairs division promotes the agency’s key role in equipping all candidates and voters to power a fairer and more open democracy in New York City. We engage New Yorkers, inform them about elections, and boost their civic participation in the democratic process.
NYC Votes is an initiative of the New York City Campaign Finance Board (CFB), a nonpartisan, independent agency, that aims to inform New Yorkers about elections and boost their civic participation in the democratic process. The NYC Votes Partnership and Outreach team works to build partnerships across the city to disseminate information and conduct direct to voter outreach.

RESPONSIBILITIES/ JOB DESCRIPTION
The team is seeking an Engagement Coordinator. This new role will play a critical role in enhancing our civic engagement education and services for city agencies, community boards, libraries, schools, and other city-affiliated organizations. The role will also support the Partnerships and Outreach team in building and maintaining strong internal systems to organize and track partnership development.
The Engagement Coordinator will work closely with the Senior Partnerships Manager on the Partnerships and Outreach team to identify and forge relationships with key stakeholders, primarily with city agencies included in Local Law 29, known as the Pro-Voter Law, which requires the provision of voter registration to New Yorkers.
They will be tasked with understanding, tracking, and meeting community needs through the provision of resources and materials, education delivery, event execution, among other engagement and education approaches. The Engagement Coordinator will also work closely with Public Affairs staff to assist in the overall development of resources and materials and coordination of services.
We are looking for someone energized about on-the-ground community engagement with strong project management and organizational skills. We seek to work with someone passionate about making the voting process inclusive for those most marginalized in our society. Ideally, this candidate is aware or interested in deepening their understanding of how racism, ableism, classism, or other oppressions show up in the voting process.

RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT AND MATERIALS DISTRIBUTION
- Work with Senior Partnerships Manager to identify new and existing contacts and develop an outreach plan to reach and support city agencies, community boards, libraries, schools, and other city-affiliated organizations.
- Serve as the primary liaison between these partner organizations and the Campaign Finance Board (CFB) as it relates to delivering requested resources and materials, scheduling and delivering educational sessions, conducting follow up, etc.
- Deliver printed and online election materials to city agencies, community boards, libraries, schools, and other city-affiliated organizations.
- Serve as the point person for partner organizations as it relates to election-related updates and questions.
- Participate in events hosted by partner organizations and promote civic engagement opportunities.
- Develop and maintain up-to-date partnership data across the Partnerships and Outreach team
- Work with Senior Partnerships Manager to maintain consistent tracking of partner data, including contact information, meeting notes, organizational tags, listserv maintenance, etc.
- Build mass communication plans to reach all partner organizations (i.e. newsletter, election updates, etc.)
- Work with Senior Partnerships Manager to develop metrics and measures of success for education delivery; create reports and tools to assess impact
- Propose and implement new ideas or processes to manage and maintain a strong partner portfolio
EDUCATIONAL TRAINING AND WORKSHOP DELIVERY
- If safe, travel to sites across the city to meet deliver trainings, meet with community stakeholders, and serve as a source of credible information for communities across NYC
- Collect and incorporate audience feedback
- Work with Marketing and Communications team to update trainings and resources to ensure they are up to date with election information and tailored to specific audience needs
- Support the development and maintenance of internal team structure, including identifying areas of improvement, creating processes for coordinating, and generally helping to keep things organized

- Minimum 2 years’ experience in outreach or community engagement work, voting and civic engagement work is preferred.
- Strong project management skills
- Experience organizing or facilitating presentations and workshops for diverse audiences
- Experience working with Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Publisher) and Google Suite.
- Willingness to travel independently to deliver presentations, participate in speaking engagements, etc. sometimes outside of regular working hours. Occasionally, travel to areas in which public transportation may not be available.
- Experience working with diverse communities
- Existing relationships in the New York City local government space, including with agencies, community-based groups, libraries, etc.
- Existing engagement in the New York City community, including local businesses, libraries, advocacy, or volunteer groups, etc.
- Ability to understand and communicate in one or more of the following languages: Arabic, American Sign Language (ASL), Bengali, Cantonese, Haitian Creole, Hindi, Korean, Mandarin, Polish, Punjabi, Spanish, Russian, or Urdu.
