DIRECTOR OF DEVELOPMENT, MT AGRICULTURE FOCUS
The Director of Development (DOD) is responsible for securing and stewarding private charitable gifts from individuals, foundations, and other philanthropic entities to benefit Montana State University. Focusing on donor cultivation, solicitation and stewardship, the DOD works with Alumni Foundation and College of Agriculture leadership to secure charitable gifts. Fundraising responsibilities may be specific to academic units (College of Agriculture); area (in-state, regional and national travel required); and/or specific funding initiatives and programs.
Desired candidates must possess a baccalaureate degree, be passionate about the importance of higher education, be highly organized, strong communicators, collaborative and have the ability to motivate MSU friends, volunteers, peers, and donors. A background/history familiar with Montana agriculture is preferred. DOD's are self-starters, possess a high level of professional integrity, and are motivated by setting and meeting goals. Demonstrated success in major and principle gift fundraising, preferably within a university setting is preferred.
