Paramedic and EMT
Klamath County Fired District #1 is establishing two (2) hiring lists for Paramedic and EMT positions (EMS, non-firefighting).
Klamath County Fire District No. 1 (KCFD1) is establishing two (2) hiring lists, one for Paramedic and one for EMT p ositions(EMS, non-firefighting). Personnel will be scheduled to work a 56-hour (48/96 shift schedule). The Eligibility Lists will remain in effect for 12 months or until exhausted. Once the final eligibility lists are established, KCFD1 reserves the right to choose the candidate(s) that meet the department’s needs at the time of an actual opening(s). Candidates will be conditionally offered a position by licensure level (Paramedic and EMT). EMT, AEMT, and EMT-I hired candidates will have the ability to transfer to Paramedic, if they obtain licensure level after initial hire. Based upon need, the District may consider lateral transfers of EMS personnel to Firefighter. POSITION OVERVIEWEMS personnel are responsible for carrying out the duties assigned by the supervising Company Officer. EMS personnel are required to work in strict compliance with all rules and regulations that govern Klamath County Fire District No. 1 (KCFD1). This position responds to calls for basic and advanced life support emergency medical services, during day to day operations, and mass casualty and man-made/natural disasters; performs Interfacility Transports including treatment to scope; provides EMS standby at events and incidents, provides non-emergency medical treatment according to Standing Orders; operates KCFD1 vehicles, specialized equipment, and tools; assists in routine maintenance, cleaning, and inspection of KCFD1 vehicles, equipment, facilities, and tools; and may be responsible for project work.
