Steam Plant Mechanic & Systems Operator (Stationary Engineer)

Indiana State University is seeking to hire a Steam Plant Mechanic and Steam Plant Systems Operator. These positions are responsible for the operation of the ISU Central Heating Plant. The applicant must be able to work extended shifts, holidays, and university closings as needed. The applicant must be able to work at heights over 30 feet and lift 50 pound bags of salt.

Qualifications:

Education: High School Diploma or GED.
Experience: One year of experience in the operation of some type of industrial equipment. Should possess a knowledge of gas and oil fired high-pressure steam boilers and associated equipment such as high and low pressure steam systems, condensate systems, compressed air systems, pumps, fans, water treatment and purification equipment including reverse osmosis units, digital control systems, meters, gauges, actuators, general instrumentation, electrical and pneumatic systems.
